2022 Community Garden Grants
It's Spring!
Time to start thinking about outdoor projects to plan, continue, or complete!
The Community Gardening Grant Program
is open for applications until April 30, 2022.
As part of the mission of Zone 6 Gardeners of Pittsburg,
we continue to offer opportunity for annual grant funding to
support garden-related community projects or educational efforts.
You will find the Application attached and
contact information regarding submission and/or questions.

Community Gardening Grant Program
Part of the mission of Zone 6 is to provide grant funding to support garden-related community projects or educational efforts. Community groups in the local area are invited to apply for a Community Gardening Grant. Applications must be received by April 30 and mailed or emailed to:

A funding advisory committee comprised of Zone 6 members reviews the club's budget and determines total funds available. The funding advisory committee reviews the applications and makes a recommendation to the Zone 6 Executive Board for approval with funds being made available to successful applicants soon after.

Come Celebrate With Us, Monday July 24th!
Zone 6 Garden Club will celebrate it's 19th birthday on Monday,
We will begin at 5:30 with a tour of John and Bea Martel's garden located at 2307 S. Homer.
John has recently built a new screened-in porch that is a must see.
Following the tour there will be a pot luck dinner
and a flower arrangement show at the First Christian Church.
The church will open at 5:00 and members may drop-off their food and flowers before going to Martel's.

June Meeting
Our June meeting is Monday! Here are the directions to the gardens we will be visiting!
We hope to see you there!
Starting at 6:00-Robinson garden directions are as follows, from Quincy & Rouse go 1 mile east to 240 Avenue, turn right, go south 1 mile to 530 Avenue, take a left and there is her house.
We will then go to the Schleicher garden (800 Elmwood) to visit and have our meeting, turn south on the first street east of Quincy and 69 By-Pass, follow the curve about 1 block to 800 Elmwood, house is on the north side of the street and next to a landscaped “empty” lot.
We hope to see you there!
